Training of Physics Teacher Competency Improvement in East Kalimantan 2022

 

The Ibis Samarinda Hotel was the venue for the East Kalimantan Province Physics Teacher Competency Improvement Training in 2022. A total of 59 participants from various cities and regencies in East Kalimantan were present in the Ibis Hotel meeting room to take part in the six-day training activity from 6 to 10 June 2022 organized by the Education Bureau of East Kalimantan Province. Dr. Abdul Hakim, M.Pd., Nurul Fitriyah Sulaeman, Ph.D., and Atin Nuryadin, Ph.D., lecturers from the Physics Education Study Program at Mulawarman University, were trusted to be instructors in this training.

This activity began with an explanation of the inquiry process in learning. Participants then discussed making inquiry-based student worksheets. Not only that but participants were also allowed to test the worksheets through a practicum held at the physics laboratory at SMA Negeri 10 Samarinda. On the last day of the training activity, participants presented and discussed the results of the worksheets trials carried out and then prepared teaching modules according to the conditions in each school. In addition, after six days the training participants received materials related to learning and assessment of the Kurikulum Merdeka, differentiated learning, and learning outcomes of the Kurikulum Merdeka. The participants seemed enthusiastic about participating in the training activities until the last day. This training was expected to improve the quality of education in accordance with the ideals of national education, which is not only to educate students but also to provide good benefits for teachers.
