PHYSICS EDUCATION STUDENT ASSOCIATION WORK PROGRAM

The Physics Education Student Association, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mulawarman University for the 2022 period has a huge greater program with the following details:

1. Pekan Fisika

 

Pekan Fisika (Physics Week) is an annual event of the Physics student association which is held once a year. Physics Week was first held in 1999. The purpose of this event is to encourage the participant’s insight into the fields of Physics, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and achievements.  The implementation of 23rd Physics Week this year consists of six competitions, they are scientific paper, scientific poster, smart physics, photography, physics olympiad, and water rocket competition.  The Target Object Segment (TSO) consisted of elementary, middle, high school, and university students in the KALTIM and KALTARA areas.  Physics Week is the largest activity of physics education associated with the highest achievement of more than 1000 participants.

The 23rd Physics Week committee consists of three classes, who are the student in the 6th semester as Steering Committee (SC), 4th-semester students as Organizing Committee (OC), and 2nd-semester students as internship commutes. The benefits obtained by students as a committee are, increasing teamwork, thinking critically, being responsible, improving skills in making questions, self-confidence, and decimalization in nature practicing theories and knowledge in the field of physics. Physics Week activities are sponsored by the Faculty and companies.

2. Antariksa

 

Antariksa is an acronym for meeting and creativity between physics education students, one of the annual activities of the Physics Education student association where Antariksa itself was first held in 2003. The purpose of this event is to introduce campus life, especially in the Physics Education study program, and the Student Association to freshman students. In addition, Antariksa accommodates freshman students to be more creative, and confident, think creatively, communicate and collaborate.

The 19th Antariksa’s Committee is 5th-semester students on Steering Committee (SC), and 3rd-semester students on Organizing Committee (OC). The benefits obtained by students as a committee are, increased teamwork, critical thinking, responsible, and increased self-confidence in creativity. Antariksa was supported and sponsored by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, under the responsibility of the deputy dean of the student and alumni section.

3. HIMAPFIS Competition

 

HIMAPFIS Competition is one of the routine student activities that aim to support the interests and talents of all students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education and all Science students which is useful for increasing competence among students. Not only that, this activity can establish friendships between students. This activity is held 1 time in one management period.

HIMAPFIS Competition is organized by the Department of Interests and Talents of HIMAPFIS FKIP UNMUL. Himapfis Competition activities this year are focused on two competition activities, namely, the futsal competition which is intended for all students in the faculty of teacher training and education, and science and technology students, while the second one is the badminton competition which is intended only for all physics education students, alumni, and lecturers.

The committee of the Himapfis Competition is physics education students, especially members of the Department of Interests and Talents. The benefits obtained by students as a committee are to increase cooperation between students, increase the sense of responsibility of students in carrying out activities, and establish friendships. This Himapfis Competition activity is sponsored by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education.

4. Creative Training

 

Creative Training (CT) is a student training activity in the field of graphic design. Students are expected to not only master the field of knowledge they are engaged in on campus but also to pursue other fields that can support their success in the future, for example, graphic design. This forum was held 2 times during one period by raising topics related to graphic design. The topic of Creative Training raised this year is related to basic training on the Canva application and making effective and interactive materials with Canva delivered by speakers who are very experienced in using Canva.

The Creative Training activity is organized by the Department of Communication, Media, and Information HIMAPFIS FKIP UNMUL which is aimed at all FKIP UNMUL Physics Education students. Through this CT activity, it is hoped that students can increase the creativity of Physics Education students in the fields of technology and graphic design.

5. Webinar HIMAPFIS

 

Webinar HIMAPFIS is a webinar event held as a form of student concern for the importance of entrepreneurial ability and the ability to argue in the modern era. This webinar raised 2 major themes related to entrepreneurship and science argumentation and was carried out at different times.

The scientific webinar focuses on increasing the competence of scientific arguments for students, by conducting seminars as a briefing on writing scientific papers, followed by the competition for writing scientific argumentation papers. The results of students' scientific papers are then assessed by experts and given awards for the best papers.

 

Entrepreneurship webinars are very useful activities for students. This is because students as the next generation of the nation's struggle need to be equipped with adequate capabilities so that the nation's very potential assets are able to compete in the Global era. The Entrepreneurship Webinar activity was attended by lecturers, and students of all study programs at FKIP Mulawarman University, and was open to the public.

The entrepreneurship seminar is expected to help students not only master the fields of knowledge they are engaged in on-campus but also master other fields that can support success in the future. In addition, this activity is carried out free of charge and has many benefits for participants including e-certificates, door prizes, relationships, and useful knowledge.

6. Public Speaking Training

 

Public Speaking training is a new program of KPSDM and this has been conducted 2 times in this period. This training contains motivational seminars on public speaking. The purpose of holding this public speaking training is expected to train students to speak in public. Then, train students to provide information to the public. The target of Segment Object (TSO) is all physics education students. The public speaking activity has been attended by more than 90% of Physics Education students. 

Through this public speaking training, students are able to increase their confidence to be able to speak in public. Then, it can improve critical thinking skills so that in conveying information to the audience the information can be well received.

7. Tahsin

Tahsin is one of the routine activities of Physics education students which aims to help students in improving their ability to read the Quran. This activity was carried out 6 times during this period by learning how to read the Quran properly and correctly. The topics raised this year are makhorijul hurf, understanding of tajwid, and how to read Al- Fatihah correctly.

This Tahsin activity was organized by the Department of Spirituality & Community Service HIMAPFIS FKIP UNMUL which was aimed to participate all Muslim students of Physics Education. Through this Tahsin activity, it is hoped to help students in reading the Quran well and correctly and can also motivate students to be interested in reading the Quran. Tahsin's activities are sponsored by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education.

8. Research Club

Research Club (RC) is one of the routine student forums that aims to assist students in carrying out their research activities as the final project for completing the degree. This activity was held 3 times during this year by raising topics related to research.  The RC topics raised this year are related to the formulation of research problems, the writing, and publication of scientific articles, and the determination of research topics based on the research gap in the field of Education delivered by Physics Education lecturers.

Research Club forums are organized by the Scientific department of HIMAPFIS FKIP UNMUL which was addressed to all Physics Education students, especially students who are carrying out their research. Through these RC forums, it is hoped that in addition to being able to help students in planning and carrying out their respective research, it can also motivate students to be more active in academic activities, especially related to research.

 

9. Leadership Training

Leadership Training is an annual program of the KPSDM Department. This activity contains public lectures on leadership, then sharing organizational experiences and also discussions about leadership and organizations. Where this work program aims to develop the leadership spirit of students of the Physics Education study program. Then prepare the future HIMAPFIS member candidates by increasing their understanding of the organization’s management. The target of Segment Object (TSO) is the freshman student in the Physics Education study program.

Through this Leadership Training activity, participants can improve their competence in leadership, teamwork, and a sense of care for others. This activity also could help the student to increase their productivity because we train them how to manage their time well.  Through leadership and teamwork training, could train students’ abilities to solve existing problems. This activity also contains art performances in order to improve their soft skills.

 

10. HIMAPFIS Care

HIMAPFIS care is a social service activity and disbursement of funds directly or indirectly to students and the community in the support of funds and work. The purpose of the HIMAPFIS care activity is to foster a sense of concern for Physics education students and students from another study program. The Target Object Segment (TSO) consists of students and the surrounding community.

The benefits of HIMAPFIS care activities for students are to foster a sense of care and mutual help among human beings, as well as help foster good attitudes and personalities.

 

11. HIMAPFIS Teaching

HIMAPFIS Teaching is one of the student activities that aims to help elementary school students in introducing Science. This activity is held once a year period. The topic raised this year is the introduction of basic physics.

HIMAPFIS Teaching activities are organized by the Department of Spirituality & Community Service and are aimed to develop the teaching skills of the student’s Physics Education. Through HIMAPFIS Teaching activities, students are expected to be confident and able to apply their knowledge gained from lectures in teaching activity. 

 

12. A Day with Assistants

A Day with Assistants or SBA is an introduction to laboratory activities in the Physics Education laboratory and sharing for the preparation of physics practicum for freshman students.  This activity is carried out annually by the scientific department, as a form of support from student organizations for the academic activities of the study program.

Through this SBA activity, students can share information and experiences with their seniors in the implementation of practicum and tips/tricks for practicum written reports so that they can help with student practicum activities. In addition, freshman students can also get to know more about the laboratory assistants who will be their practicum assistants. 

 

13. The Study Group

The Study Group is one of the student forums that aims to increase scientific insights and academic achievements of all physics education students. This activity is held based on the needs of students in carrying out lecture activities, both academically and in other activities that can support their teaching skills. This year the study group is carried out regularly once a week with 2 major topics, namely training on making research proposals for the Student Creativity Program (PKM) competition and improving physical science through physics quizzes.

Through this study group activity, students can hone their skills in the field of making research proposals in accordance with the provisions of the PKM competition, and increase their understanding of physical sciences with interesting quizzes provided.

 

14. Interest training

Interest Activity is a routine activity carried out by physics education students. This activity is carried out 3 times in one management period. This interest training activity aims to train the interests and talents of all physics education students. This activity can also establish friendships between physics education students and channel the interests and talents possessed by physics education students to later be included in competitions according to student interests and talents.

Interest training is an activity organized by the Department of Interests and Talents. This activity is focused on training the interest of physics education students in sports and art activities and other talent interests. The committee of the HIMAPFIS Competition is a physics education student member of the Department of Interests and talents. The benefits obtained by students as a committee are to increase cooperation between students, increase the sense of responsibility of students in carrying out activities, and establish friendships.
